Paula Hooper, Client Support Coordinator
Paula Hooper is our Client Support Coordinator and so much more! She is your first contact person at Oak Valley Tax. You will talk to Paula to set up your appointment, the one that greets you when you come in, and the person you will drop off any extra information needed to complete the work we are doing for you. She is the one that has you fill out our questionnaire and helps you with your final paperwork for E-filing.
Paula has been with Oak Valley Tax going on 6 years now. She has been in the sales and customer service field for over forty years. She was a personal banker for a large bank handling new accounts, business clients, home loans and personal loans. If you have not met Paula yet, you are missing out, as she is one of the friendliest, helpful, caring and patient people you will ever know! She was born and raised in Ohio and moved to California in 1970. She has been married for 48 years, has 5 children and 10 grandchildren. She comes from the old school of thought… the client is right! Deborah St. Martin, E.A.
Deborah is committed to building year-round relationships with her clients. She has a passion for working with entrepreneurs. After 20 years in “Corporate America”, she took her diversified management skills and turned towards small business. Deborah started her own tax consulting business in 1989 while continuing to work with successful business owners on both senior management positions and as an independent consultant.
She is an Enrolled Agent preparing taxes for individuals, corporations and partnerships. Deborah can represent her clients in tax matters dealing with the IRS, Franchise Tax Board and the Board of Equalization. Combining her personal experience as a business owner with her extensive tax and financial knowledge, Deborah brings a “real world” approach in dealing with her clients.
Deborah founded Oak Valley Tax upon principles that place the utmost value on our clients’ financial goals and objectives. We’re in the business of building long term, solid relationships that are based upon trust and quality client service.

Dawn Rivera, E.A.
Dawn Rivera is in her 4th tax season with Oak Valley Tax. Over this past year, she achieved her Enrolled Agent status, which means she has earned the highest credential the IRS awards and the privilege of representing taxpayers before the IRS on all administrative levels including examination, collection and appeals. Dawn is also recognized by all state taxing agencies, helping many clients that live out of state or have just moved into California. She enjoys assisting others from the young to the young at heart as well as small business owners, and everyone in between. She delights in researching an obscure or complicated question as well as helping you discover often overlooked tax deductions. With over 25 years in marketing and helping business owners, Dawn brings her passion of building long-term relationships based on trust and quality customer service. Dawn’s care and concern for her clients and their families set her apart as she is not “just another tax preparer”.

Joyce Watts, CPA
Joyce is a very experienced CPA specializing in tax planning and preparation. She has over 30 years experience including being a partner in her own firm in Northern California. Joyce brings her vast experience to Oak Valley Tax where she works with Trustees on tax planning and preparation for estates and trusts; shareholders and partners working with more complex business returns; and, preparing taxes for individuals. As a CPA, Joyce, can represent her clients in tax matters dealing with the IRS, Franchise Tax Board and the Board of Equalization.

EAs are the only federally licensed tax preparers who also have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS.Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years.
